Tomorrow is the 1st of April, yet Mother Nature brought us a mix of sleet and snow this morning – making us long even more for the warmth of the spring sun. We hope this little taste of fresh herbs + wildflowers brings comfort while we wait until the snow melts.
We don’t know about the rest of you, but here at Elements, we are ready for spring! With the threat of snow this week, we collectively groaned and are keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine and crocuses. The ability to tap into our creativity whenever we need it is paramount to being successful graphic designer. This is true for many other professions as well which is what prompted me to pick up and read this book, “Imagine – How Creativity Works”, because it promised to pinpoint our personal eternal spring of ideas. After one the the longest, coldest, snowiest winters in recorded history, let us rejoice at the beginning of spring! Today marks the Spring Equinox – the official first day of spring. While it might not feel quite like spring to some people in the US, I am confident that I can speak for the majority that we will find a way to celebrate anyway!

Mardi Gras is an annual festival marking the last day before the season of Lent. During Lent, many people give up poor habits such as unhealthy foods or drinking alcohol, and Mardi Gras – which is French for Fat Tuesday – is a big last hurrah for people to get their fill of excess.
New Orleans is known for its wild Mardi Gras celebration where traditions range from wearing costumes and masks, parades, and dancing.
